European Neighbors Day celebrated in Odessa

On May 26, 2009, European Neighbors Day was celebrated in every district of Odessa. Odessa is the only Ukrainian city that celebrates the European Neighbors Day together with many other cities of the European Union.

The fest has a plain ideology - to stimulate the citizens’ contacts with each other, revive sincere relations between the people living in the same city, on the same street, in the same house, in the same block. The celebration was organized and held by the representatives of Odessa City Council, Inhabitants’ Self-Organization Bodies and social organizations.

Tables were served in the yards of the houses; different art collectives were showing their performances. Representatives of Odessa City Hall took part in the improvised feast as well as the ordinary citizens.
